California here I come!

Man, I haven't written for a long time. Well a lot has happened. I have wanted to do a thing called the Disney College Program where you get to work at Disneyland or Disney world. Well I signed up for it and did the online interview. Then they said to call and set up a phone interview. I had tried once before and I hadn't gotten to that point. So I set up the phone interview. The day I had it, I was freaking out. I was just waiting for my phone to vibrate. When I got the call it was so easy. I was not nervous at all. Well about 4 days later I get a call from the same number and I decide to answer it. They had called me back and I was accepted to the program at Disneyland! I was so happy I was shaky the rest of the day. So I will be working at Disneyland as a janitor and living in apartments that are a couple of blocks away from the park. I have to check in on January 23, 2011 at 10 a.m. I have been so excited that I just want to be done with school so I can go already.

Also, I am waiting for the Disney store to get my background check back so that I can start working there. My life is so filled with Disney that I feel great! Yay! 

Week Long Vacation

Last week my family and I went up to Idaho for my little sister's swimming lessons. She had lessons and then we would swim with them every other day. Chlorine does not go away very fast. I still smell it in my hair after like 4 showers. Gross! Well I am glad I am home because today I got a letter in the mail. It had a postcard, 2 pictures (which are hilarious) and a letter. I have been waiting for one and this just made me really happy. Last week I figured out that Mae has put out a new cd in March and it's called (A)ternoon. It is such a good cd. It's AMAZING!! I recommend it to anyone.

I GOT A JOB.....finally!

Well I got the job with the Orem Owlz. I have been working for 3 days and it's pretty fun! The first day I was a runner getting the cashier food and the other 2 days I've been a cashier. Cashiering is a lot better then running because I don't have to wear gloves the whole time. Sweaty gloves and a couple of hours is rally gross. Well tomorrow Devin's mission changes to the Scotland Ireland Mission. I'm so jealous because he could possibly go to Scotland. I hope he loves the mission change. Well this whole week I work and I get payed tomorrow! I'm so excited to get my first paycheck. YAY!

Well....

Well I haven't gotten a job yet and I just had an interview with the Orem Owlz Baseball to be a cashier. They said that they would call next week either way. So I'm hoping that I get it because it would be so perfect. It would be only during nights and it would be totally easy.Well next Saturday is one year down. I'm so excited because if this first year went fast then the next one will go by even faster.

Nothing...

Well I had a job interview with Build-A-Bear and they called me back. I didn't get that job. Gymboree said that they were put on a hiring freeze so, no on that one. On Sunday I talked to Devin! It was really good to talk to him. He is now a senior companion and he is doing good. Well he has been out for 11 months on Wednesday and I just can't believe it's almost been a year! It has gone by fast and this next year will go even faster! (hopefully). Well I'm still looking for a job for the summer so that is all that has happened. I've been really bored but that's what you get when school is over. 

It's been a while since I have posted anything. Guard is over and I had a lot of fun in Ohio. This week is the last week of school and I have one more final tomorrow and I will be done! I'm so excited to be done with school. I had an interview last week with Gymboree and I'm still waiting to hear back from them. I'm really wanting this job. Well in about a week and a half I get to talk to Devin on Mother's Day! I'm so excited and it is also his birthday on the 3rd so talking to him will be like a birthday present! Well nothing really exciting has happen but I will keep you updated on the job status.

State Championships

State was on Saturday and I did great for the pre-lims. I performed my heart out and it was the best performance I have ever had. I didn't drop anything and I caught our last flag toss perfect! I was so excited about it until Ashlee told us that it was horrible. So for finals I wanted to do the same thing but while we were in the warm-up I hit my thumb hard. So I had to go through the pain and I dropped twice. We had such a fun time even though we got 3rd. I'm really excited to go to Dayton on Wednesday! My first time on a plane!

My Birthday and Competition!

Well yesterday was my 19th birthday. I just can't believe I'm that old! Well on Friday, Devin's mom came over and brought me a bouquet of flowers. They are so beautiful! I just love his mom! My birthday was great too. My mom, my aunt and my little sister went to lunch in Salt Lake before the competition. We went to the restaurant called The Garden. It was so good. They have fried pickles that are so heavenly! I could have just had those and had been happy! After we did that we went to the Gateway and did some shopping. I got some clothes and some shoes but the best thing that I got was a build-a-bear. That was my first time getting one for myself. Of course i got a frog and I am just loving it.

Then we went to the competition. Since I had sprained my thumb the last Tuesday, I performed but without any of my equipment. Right before we went out to perform, we always do our chant, "UVU KICK SOME WHAT?" I was so ready to say it when they all screamed, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHLEY!" It was the best thing ever. Then we went out and performed our guts out. We all thought that we did excellent. I didn't stay to hear the scores because it was my birthday and I wanted to go home with my friends. When I got home I found out what we got. We got 3rd place. We had lost by .4 of a point. I was so mad! I was really happy that our score had gone up a couple of points but I wasn't happy about getting 3rd. Well next Saturday I am definitely going to perform and we will be the best!    

Regionals!!

Over the weekend, Envision went to Arizona for Regionals. We got 1ST PLACE!!! We were so excited! It was a long drive there and back but it was so much fun. The weather down there was amazing! The sun was shining and it was like 75 the whole weekend. I called home on Saturday and they said that it was snowing and would be snowing all day. I was so glad that we totally missed the whole storm. I am totally wanting summer right now. I don't want anymore cold weather.

Over the weekend

On Saturday we had a competition at Riverton High School. We got second but we had some trouble with the music. Nancy had accidently gave them the wrong version of our song. So all the cues were off but we kept going and the last about 30 seconds was silent. We kept going and we did pretty good. On Sunday Jacob was blessed. Mitchel did a great job with the blessing. Then we went to their house afterwards and had lunch. They had my favorite sandwiches. Chicken salad sandwiches! They were so good! I loved it! Well an update on a job, I haven't found one yet. I'm getting really frustrated that I can't get one. I hope that maybe since summer is soon that they will be hiring soon. Cross your fingers!

Well this week will be a lot of fun. Friday we leave to Arizona for a competition. Even though we won't be in Arzona very long at least it will be very warm weather. I can't wait for that. Also it is Devin's 9 month mark! I can't believe he has been out there that long! I got an email from him this morning and he said that Mother's Day is on sunday for Ireland. He said that if he gets an English companion for tranfers this week that he can call. If he doesn't then we will have to wait til May.

Yay for the weekend and no competition!

Well my weekend is free. No competition in a long time. I can relax and have my Saturday back. Well for the past week I think I have a sinus infection so I don't feel good today. Well I had an interview with Babies-R-Us on Wednesday. I think it went really well. They said they would call me today for a second interview if I impressed them. I am waiting patiently to get that call. I really want this job. I think it would be so much fun to work there. Hopefully they call!!

Competition!

Well on Saturday we had a competition at Tooele. Ashlee told us after we performed that that was our best performance we have done so far. We all thought that maybe it would be the day that we beat Urban Expressions. Well it didn't happen. I was so sure that we were going to get first. They got I think 73 and we got 69. I hope one of these days we get to beat them.

My package came!!

Today I got my package from Devin. I was so excited! He sent me a cd of pictures from the Dublin Castle, a tape (which I will listen to tonight), a card that he made me and a letter. The card was so cute! I loved it! Last Friday was his eight month mark so he has 16 months left. The time is flying so fast. I hope it stays this way.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Well yesterday while watching the Olympics, the door bell rings. The door was for me. It was Devin's mom. She brought me a bouquet of balloons and a rose with a note from Devin. It was so cute and I wasn't even expecting it. It totally made my Valentine's weekend! I haven't gotten my package from Devin so I hope it comes tomorrow.

Over the Weekend

Well our competition at Payson went really well. We got second again but our score improved. I was proud of myself because I didn't drop at all until our last flag toss which made me mad. My goal for next competition is to not drop at all. Another goal I want is to beat Urban Expressions at least once this season. That would so cool! Well yesterday I got an email for Devin about some great news. He said that his mission president is leaving in July and they will be combining the Scotland and Ireland mission. I am so jealous! I have always wanted to go to either of those places and Devin could be going to both. I am so excited for him! He also told me that he was sending a package. I can't wait to get it! YAY!!

New info!

Well I just saw the pictures that were taken from our competition on Saturday you can see them on http://www.nathantgross.com/zenphoto/colorguard/UVU%20Envision. There are some cool pictures on there. Well I got an email from Devin today. He said he got transferred to a new place called Mullingar. His new companion is Elder Hewitt. I'm excited to hear from him and the new people he meets there.

We did awesome!

Yesterday was our first competition at Orem high. I think we did amazing. It was one of our best performances. We got so close to first place. We were about 3 points away from Urban Expressions and they are amazing. We will see what happens next week at the Payson competition. Well I can't wait for tomorrow because I will be getting an email from Devin. I will know if he gets transferred out of Dublin or not. He has been there his whole mission. He said he would love to go to someplace new but he would like to stay to be in Dublin for St. Patrick's Day. I will see what happens tomorrow. I can't wait to get it!

It's Friday!!

Yay! It's Friday! Well today I am going to try and practice saber for tomorrows competition. I'm kind of excited for it but at the same time I'm nervous. I hope that tomorrow will be the best performance. All I want to do is catch everything. I don't want to drop anything. We will see what happens tomorrow at the competition.

The Start

Hey! This is my first post. A little about myself. I am 18 years old and I am waiting for a missionary. He is in Dublin, Ireland and he has been out for 7 months. I am going to school at UVU and I think I have decided to major in elementary education. We'll see what happens.
