Life After Disney

Well I have been home from California for almost 2 months. I love being home except for the fact I don't have a job yet. I will be starting at The Disney Store in about a week or so. I just need a job that is not just seasonal. I need one that will last me forever. I love being home because I can see Devin whenever I want. Ever since I got home, I have seen him every single day. I love it! Well I will try to keep updating you on what is happening in my life better.

Last 10 days of the Disney College Program

Well I have 10 days left of working here at Disney California Adventure. It has been a great experience for me. I think it has changed me a little bit. My dad says that I am grown up. I have liked working here but it has gotten to the point that I just want to be home. I have been home sick for a while now. I miss Utah and all the beauty. California doesn't give me mountains, green grass, the canyon, and things like that. I miss Utah a lot. I miss my family and friends so much. I hate coming home to no one. I hate not having my friends here so that we can go play at Disneyland or just hang out. I am ready to come home.
While I have been here, I have learned how to live on my own and to know how to deal with money and expenses. I have learned that I don't like working 8 hour days. I don't want to ever have a job as a custodian ever again. It was fun in the beginning but it is has gotten to the point where I don't like coming to work. I wish we had the choice of changing positions while in the program.  It would have made the program a whole lot better.
The best thing about this program is that when I have kids of my own, I can tell them that I worked at Disney California Adventure.
I can't wait to have Devin, Troy and Brittany come down to pick me up. It will be the greatest feeling to get in the car and go home.

Disney Dream Suite!

Yesterday I went on a tour of the Disney Dream Suite. It is located above the attraction, Pirates of the Caribbean. First we went up the elevator that was made out of 6 different woods and was beautiful. I thought that if the elevator is this beautiful then the suite is just going to get better. Next we walked into the main hallway. It had original paintings of what the suite was going to look like. They did really well at  staying pretty close to what the paintings were. Then we went into Walt and Lilly's bedroom. It was themed to Adventure land. It was beautiful. It had drapes on the bed frame, an amazing light piece over the bed and the best thing of all was the goodnight kiss button. It started off with music of the jungles. Then the lights dimmed and the painting on the wall above the bed turned into Peter Pan's mermaid lagoon with the sounds of the waterfall. Then on the wall next to it the moon came out with the ship at the end of Peter Pan as they sail home. It was so magical feeling that i had goose bumps all over my body. The amazing bathroom that went with it had a huge bathtub with an archway above it. She pushed a button and music came on and in the archway, stars appeared and a hidden Mickey was in the stars. I would be in that tub for hours just watching the stars. Then we went into the front room facing the waters of America. It had paintings of the Chateau and Castle that inspired Walt for Sleeping Beauty's Castle in Disneyland. Then the carpet on the floor had hidden Mickey's all over it. And of course there had to be some magic in the room. So she pushed the button and the clock struck 12 and Cinderella appeared on the clock and across the room her glass slipper lit up and some of the figures in the room started dancing. The next magic button was to tell the guests of when Fantasmic was on. Geppetto and the cat appear on the clock and the music is When You Wish Upon A Star. The last magic button was to wake the guests up in the morning. The Tiki birds appeared on the clock and sang their song, The Tiki Room. The last bedroom was the kids bedroom. It was themed after Frontier land. And of course there was a goodnight kiss button. When she pushed it the train came out of it's box and went around the ceiling. Every time it went past a toy up there, it would move and make sounds like in the park. The bathroom, of course, was not as amazing as the parents room but it was very pretty. The last stop on our tour was the patio. The design outside was so cute. It had a fountain and hanging lamps and the Pirates of the Caribbean music playing. It was so relaxing. When I was near the  fountain I remembered that I had a penny in my pocket. Of course, I had to throw it in. Does it make it a really special wish when the fountain is in the Dream Suite?? I think so.

It was such a great experience to see the magic in action. It reaffirmed how much I love Disney. I can't wait to have more tours like that.
